Gugulethu Sofia Mbatha is better known by her stage and screen name Gugu Mbatha Raw. She became popular for her role in the BBC television series of science fiction called Doctor Who. Chelsea Joy Handler was born on February 25 1975 located in Livingston, New Jersey. She was one of the youngest six children. Her father was a used automobile dealer and her mother was a homemaker. Her mother is a German who immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1958. Her diagnosis was breast cancer in 1989 and died after battling cancer for ten years. Handler was educated in Reform Judaism by her father and grandfather, who were Jewish. Handler was raised in a nice neighborhood, and enjoyed a pleasant childhood. Handler was 19 when she made the decision to relocate in Los Angeles and pursue acting. Handler started acting to earn income. Handler's storytelling ability was discovered as she reached the age of 21. Handler then decided to dedicate her entire career to stand-up comedy. Handler's career began as part of the all-female Oxygen television cast on the hidden camera/practical humor reality series Girls Behaving Unsteadily. The show was on the air from 2002 to 2005. The host began to appear on different shows such like Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was a part of The Tonight Show for a while as a correspondent. Handler got her first major break as she hosted her E! Show in 2006. The show was named the Chelsea Handler Series. The Chelsea Handler show ran for two years. Handler appeared on Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the following season throughout the United States. Her stand-up performances were telecast on VH1, Comedy Central's Premium Blend and HBO. In 2010, she was tapped to host the 2010. MTV Video Music Awards. In this way, she became only the second female to host VMA's after Roseanne Barr.
